Advanced Silversmithing
The trainee will expand his/her knowledge and will be taught advanced silversmithing techniques emphasizing in methods such as:
- 3D shapes (sphere, cylinder, box)
- Inlay
- Married Metals and Puzzle Technique
- Hollow Ring
- Granulation
- Cold joints (Rivets, Hinges)
- Bezel construction and stone setting of various cuts (cabochon, irregular stones, pebbles)
- Sculpture – engraving on stone or mother of pearl
SILVERSMITH COURSE INFORMATION - SCHOOL
- The duration of the course is 9 months (36 two-hour meetings) – meeting once a week.
- The cost is €120/month (24% VAT not included) and covers 4 two-hour courses.
- In order to participate in the course , knowledge of basic silversmithing techniques is necessary.
- Classes are held in the morning or afternoon in groups of 3 people.
- All tools and materials required are provided free of charge by the School as part of the training.
- Upon completion of the course you are given a certificate of attendance.

LESSONS AT SCHOOL OF SILVERSMITHING, ATHENS
These silversmithing courses will teach you all the basic techniques. From sawing, filing, hammer and drill texture, to soldering, polishing and finishing. We accept students of many levels on the course, so if you have done silversmithing before, either with us or with someone else, come and broaden your knowledge.
You will make items of your choice rather than following a set plan in order to aquire the flexibility to make this day personal to you. All materials are included.
